Common questions
Will it actually make rainbows in my room?
Yes — as long as direct sunlight hits it. The prism needs a beam of sun rather than ambient daylight, so a window that gets direct sun for part of the day gives the strongest, clearest spectrums. On overcast days it simply reads as a decorative crystal.
Which finish should I choose?
The transparent crystal produces cleaner, more defined rainbow bands. The AB colour crystal has an iridescent coating that gives a warmer, more shimmering effect and looks more colourful even when the sun isn't out. Both are the same 75mm Bauhinia cut.
Is it safe to hang in a child's room?
It's a solid glass crystal, so hang it securely and out of reach of small children, as you would any glass ornament. Many customers hang theirs high in a nursery window so the light show is visible from the cot without the crystal being reachable.
Does it come with something to hang it with?
